Two-Face (Harvey Dent) is a supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman. The character was created by Bob Kane and Neb Finger and first appeared in Detective Comics #66 (August 1942).^[3] As i of Batman's virtually enduring enemies, Two-Confront belongs to the collective of adversaries that brand up Batman'due south rogues gallery.

2-Face showtime appears in Detective Comics #66 with the name Harvey "Apollo" Kent;^[3] later stories inverse his name to "Harvey Paring" to avoid an association with Superman (Clark Kent).^[viii] The grapheme only fabricated three appearances in the 1940s, and appeared twice in the 1950s (not counting the impostors mentioned beneath).^[ix] By this time, he was dropped in favor of more than "kid-friendly" villains, though he did announced in a 1968 issue (World's Finest Comics #173), in which Batman declared him to be the criminal that he nearly fears. In his autobiography, Batman creator Bob Kane claims to have been inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Example of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, specifically the 1931 film version which he saw as a child. Harvey Kent [edit]

As mentioned above, Harvey Dent does return as 2-Face in the 1970s.

With the institution of the multiverse, the 2-Confront of World-Two (i.e., the grapheme seen in the original Golden Age stories) is said to be Harvey Kent, who had not relapsed following his cure.^[57] The concluding appearance of the Golden Age version of 2-Face was in Superman Family #211 (October 1981), depicting him as a guest at the wedlock of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle (Catwoman). He meets Lois Lane and Clark Kent, and his shared proper noun with the latter creates defoliation.^[57]

Two-Face-Ii [edit]

In Batman #700, which establishes Terry McGinnis as part of the DC Universe canon, it is revealed that 2-Face-Two kidnapped the infant Terry, along with an fourscore-year-old Carter Nichols, and tried to disfigure them in the style of the Joker. His plans were foiled by Damian Wayne, the quaternary Robin and Batman's biological son. Unlike the original Two-Confront, this version of the grapheme was built-in deformed with a second face up rather than being scarred by acid or fire and flips two coins instead of i. A number of alternate universes in DC Comics publications let writers to innovate variations on 2-Face, in which the character's origins, behavior, and morality differ from the mainstream setting.

The Night Knight Returns [edit]

In the alternate future setting of The Night Knight Returns, plastic surgery returns Paring's face to normal, only at the unforeseen price of permanently destroying the skillful-hearted Harvey Dent personality. • In the Elseworlds book Batman: Ruddy Mist, the third role of the trilogy that began with Batman & Dracula: Red Rain, in which Batman becomes a vampire, 2-Face, having only recently been disfigured, forms a new gang accompanied past Killer Croc as his musculus and forges an alliance with Commissioner Gordon and Alfred Pennyworth to terminate Batman when his insane thirst for blood drives him to kill his erstwhile enemies. After Batman is believed killed in the onetime Batcave, Two-Face up turns on the two men, forcing Alfred to abscond and rescue Batman while Gordon kills Two-Confront'due south men. As he confronts Gordon, Two-Confront is interrupted past Batman, restored to life after Alfred sacrificed himself so that his claret could restore his principal. Batman drives two crossbow bolts into each side of Two-Face's head - "Ane for each face".^[lxx]
• In the Elseworlds story Batman/Tarzan: Claws of the Cat-adult female, explorer and adventurer Finnegan Dent is revealed to be stealing the sacred artifacts of an African tribe in the lost metropolis of Mnemnom. Batman: World One [edit]

In the graphic novel, Batman: Earth One, Harvey Dent has a twin sister named Jessica, who was a friend of Bruce Wayne from preparatory school. In Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover, 2-Face is mutated into a mutant birdie as one of the various other Arkham inmates past Shredder and Human foot Clan to attack Batman and Robin.
